Scope of Works

Full site set up inc supply of welfare, compounds, skips and scaffold.
Removed existing metal cappings and defected single ply roof system down to the concrete deck.
Cleaned and primed the deck.
Boarded the parapet upstands.
Installed a combination of self adhesive and torch on vcl to adhere to safe 2 torch guidelines.
Installed a tailor made Cut to fall PIR insulation scheme.
Installed a combination of self adhesive and torch on underlays to adhere to safe 2 torch guidelines.
Installed Torch on mineral capsheet.

Build-Up / Specification

Primer: Garla Prime and SA Contact Primer.
Vapour control layer :Torch Flex and SA flex Vapour barrier.
Insulation: Tailor made Cut to fall PIR insulation scheme.
Underlay:Torch flex ultra vent, Torch evolution base sheet and dual release SA base sheet.
Capsheet: Stress ply flex.

Challenges & Solutions

Examples:

Worked around bad weather
Had to retrofit and make good previous bad workmanship at some of the roof junctions and details which interface with adjacent areas
Restricted access requiring scaffold due to the height being around 15m
Had to use a mechanical hoist for getting materials up and rubbish down due to the Height challenge
The location of the roof in relation to the school layout meant that it was a very large walk between where vans were parked and materials, welfare and skips were stored and the roof area we were working on.
