Matthew Doran

Matthew Doran is the Commercial Director of DH Roofing Ltd and has nearly two decades of experience within the construction and roofing industry. Having co-founded the business at a young age, Matthew has played a central role in developing DH Roofing Ltd into a well-structured contractor delivering complex roofing projects across the commercial, public sector and residential sectors.

Matthew’s career began on the tools, developing strong practical experience across pitched and flat roofing systems, carpentry and traditional leadwork. This hands-on background, supported by multiple trade and supervisory qualifications, gives him a detailed understanding of site conditions, buildability and sequencing, allowing him to make commercially sound decisions grounded in real-world delivery.

Matthew combines this trade knowledge with a detailed understanding of commercial management, risk control and contractual delivery. He is responsible for all commercial aspects of the business, including pre-contract tendering, pricing strategy, contract administration, financial management and client relationships, while working closely with the Operations Director to jointly oversee operational performance across live projects.

Under Matthew’s commercial leadership, DH Roofing Ltd has achieved sustained growth, reaching an annual turnover of approximately £1.9m and establishing itself as a trusted contractor delivering projects directly for principal contractors and end clients. The business operates with full responsibility for programme, quality, health and safety and commercial control, supported by robust systems, insurances and governance procedures aligned with commercial and public sector requirements.

Matthew has been directly involved in securing and delivering a wide range of projects, including recently completing large-scale refurbishment works to approximately 100 properties across local housing stock for a major principal contractor, as well as the roof refurbishment works at Theatre Clwyd in North Wales, a high-profile project with a total value of approximately £1.1m. The company has also delivered specialist flat and pitched roofing works across schools, large commercial and industrial units, leisure facilities, balcony refurbishments and heritage-sensitive environments, with a strong pipeline of secured projects already in place for the coming year.

A strong advocate of professional development and best practice, Matthew holds NVQ Level 6 and Level 7 Diplomas in Construction Management and has overseen the continued expansion of the company’s accreditations, operational systems, fleet and premises to ensure DH Roofing Ltd consistently meets the expectations of commercial clients.
Matthew is passionate about raising standards within the roofing industry and supporting the development of skilled operatives through structured training and leadership. His approach is based on professionalism, transparency and long-term relationships, ensuring clients receive cost certainty, quality workmanship and well-managed projects from inception through to completion.
